who we think with.
I began my advertising career at the corruptible age of 17. I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to be in advertising. My dad always said, Make yourself indispensable. So after hiding most of the office supplies, everyone had to ask me where things were. I was the person to go to if you needed anything. They couldn't get rid of me, so instead they promoted me. With the combination long hours on the job and night school, I worked my way up to become an Art Director.
I've been lucky enough to work on some amazing clients through the years, including Sport Chek, Bayer, Toyota, United Way, International Dyslexia Association, Husky, Travel Alberta and the YWCA of Calgary. I've even won some prizes (shortlisted at Cannes) for some of that work. I would describe my style as crafty. If there was an opportunity to build my ads using popsicle sticks and glue—I will. I also love robots. In fact, I love them so much I sometimes write them into my ads.
